Food was delicious! The hostess tried seating us at this awkward dark corner, but he easily moved us after we asked for another table. Other than the table issue, I'd recommend. I don't think I'd wait if there was a line.

This is my ideal spot for a breakfast. Simple, and not too much or making me feel full. We came in around 8:15am on a Saturday and were easily able to find a table, but it did start to fill up relatively quick as it's not a huge space. This place is extremely cozy and makes you feel like you are transported to Europe. This was a case where they executed the simplicity of the dishes to high level and you left feeling very satisfied. They brew la colombe coffee.

Buvette is a cute but small breakfast and brunch hotspot. I came on a Sunday morning around 11:30, and the line extended a good way out of the store. Despite this, we were seated fairly quickly since all the groups ahead of us were larger parties, and they were able to fit my boyfriend and me in the garden. The space inside is quite small for the number of people dining, which made it feel a bit crowded. However, the garden provided a nice escape from the hustle and bustle inside. The food was pretty good. I ordered the Belgian waffle, which was cooked to perfection, and the fruit was incredibly fresh and sweet. The standout dish was the waffle sandwich, which had the perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness. The juice was slightly overrated, as it was on the expensive side, but you do get about three glasses from the small carafe. It was very fresh, though.

We didn't plan to end up here. But the night had other ideas. Buvette doesn't announce itself. You don't arrive so much as find yourself there, like turning a corner and running into an old letter you never sent. The place is small. Tables are too close together in the best way. You hear conversations, but none of them matter more than the one across from you. We ordered tartines. Hers had prosciutto and fig. Mine was mushroom, barely held together by toast and charm. The plates were unapologetically small. The flavors weren't. She laughed once--really laughed--and knocked over her water. The glass didn't break, but something else did: whatever wall we had up walking in. We shared the coq au vin. It came in a tiny copper pot, still bubbling, like it had been waiting all day just for us. She said it smelled like a memory she didn't know she had. I believed her. There was wine. Not too much. Just enough to make the street outside feel softer when we left. She looped her arm through mine. I didn't ask why. I just let her. Buvette isn't a restaurant. It's a pause button. And some nights... that's exactly what you need.

Dinner plug! I had been wanting to try Buvette since I moved to NYC almost 5 years ago, particularly to try their delicious looking eggs. After sleeping on it for a long time, someone mentioned to me how they have one of the best chocolate mousse in the city and I knew I had to come immediately. I decided to try their dinner and it was one of the best decisions I have made. This place does not take reservations so my fiancé and I walked in at 7pm on a Saturday-- we were told the wait time was around 45min but it ended up being more around 35 during which we were able to order a drink while we waited. My fiancé got a St. Germain aperitif which had elderflower liquor and was super refreshing and tasty. I ordered a French 75 which has now become one of my favorite cocktails-- citrusy, refreshing, and bubbly without being sweet. We sat quickly after and our waiter was very professional, and warm. He shared the special for the day which was a burger with blue cheese that sounded tempting but we opted to try: - Carottes Rapees: very refreshing side of carrots that actually balanced out our meals very nicely with its subtle acidity, sweetness, and nuttiness from the pistachios. Very good! - Coq au vin: my fiancé loved this dish! He said it's one of the best coq au vin he has had in the city-- the chicken was very tender, the mushrooms were perfectly cooked, the bacon bits added a strong umami flavor, and the sauce was super rich and comforting with the perfect level of tanginess from the red wine. Perfect for a cold day. - Moules au curry: another phenomenal dish! The fries it came with were actually amazing and we should have gotten a whole extra side. The mussel portion was generous and the meat itself was large. These came with a super light curry cream sauce-- I wouldn't quite classify it as a curry since the flavor was more cream predominant but the hint of curry was very pleasant. Definitely would get my own next time! - Chocolate mousse: star of the show! This was truly reminiscent of the chocolate mousse I had in France that I was so obsessed with: rich, thick, creamy, with a strong chocolate flavor that was not too sweet. It came with a nice layer of unsweetened whipped cream on top to add a refreshing balance (I honestly could have had it without the cream but it was amazing nonetheless). If you love chocolate mousse, you HAVE to try the one here. Overall, I absolutely loved this place for dinner. The ambiance was super cute and romantic, and felt very intimate, like a neighborhood bistro in Paris. The service was excellent, and the food was top notch. A little on the pricier side but not crazy compared to the standard in NYC. I was also a huge fan of their cocktails! I definitely will be coming back to try brunch and for more mousse + French 75s!

This place was recommended to me and it was truly an experience! So cute inside, and everything was wonderful. These 2 were the best I've EVER had!! 1) croque mosieur - texture and flavor explosion. Order this!! 2) almond croissant - just WOW! A true marvel of a pastry! Filled with a nutty almond filling with cinnamon and sugar that was just divine! Toasty, buttery, yum!! And not too sweet. It was perfection. Also really enjoyed the creamy eggs with smoked salmon - the toast with it so good!! And the scone was super fresh and buttery; loved the orange peel chutney. I will be back!

So yummy!!! The eggs were perfectly fluffy and seasoned. The prosciutto was super delicious and paired well with the cheesy bread and eggs. The croque madame was also really delicious. The bread was perfectly toasted and the cheese and ham paired perfectly. One of the best cappuccinos I've ever had! We sat at the bar and it's super cute too. We did wait in line for maybe ~30 mins, but worth it!

What a gem of a find !!! 5/5 for food, service and ambiance. Cozy vibes, ports you to France right away, friendly service. The steamed eggs were a delicacy, so soft and delicate, the best I've had. The brioche toast was delicious too, so moist, not very sweet, custardy texture.

I treated a colleague to brunch at Buvette as a holiday gift, and it did not disappoint! The neighborhood is adorable and full of such charming shops and restaurants. Buvette is no exception! The restaurant is cozy and the perfect spot to break bread with friends! We ordered the croque madame and Belgian waffles, and the tastes and textures were perfect! We wanted a little bit of salty and sweet. The waiter also recommended I try the ginger lemon tea, and it was incredibly fresh! No tea bags, just the perfect remedy for my dry throat this winter! My friend also loved that they were able to make him a decaf latte with such care!
